Double Orifice Air Release Valve (EN 1074-4)
The large orifice rapidly evacuates accumulated air when a pipeline is being filled, preventing air locks and permitting fast, safe filling. It also opens to admit large volumes of air during draining or pump shutdown, protecting the pipeline against vacuum formation and collapse. The small orifice operates under full working pressure, automatically venting micro-bubbles and trapped air pockets that collect at high points, maintaining flow efficiency and reducing friction loss, corrosion, and water hammer risk.
The valve body and covers are cast in high-grade ductile iron (GGG50). Two independent float balls — one large, one small, in durable ABS — control the two orifices respectively, each closing drip-tight against its NBR seal when water rises. Carbon steel fasteners and nylon millpads complete a robust, field-proven assembly. Flanged ends per EN 1092-2 and pressure ratings of PN10 / PN16 make it suitable for water supply and wastewater networks, with every unit pressure-tested to EN 12266-1 before shipment.
